Our exclusive range of custom kitchens range from modern and contemporary; to traditional farmhouses, which can all be personalised to your liking – but where should you begin with your designs?
Space
To understand what needs to go into your new bespoke kitchen, you need to be aware of the space. How much can fit into your kitchen? One of our FAQ’s recently was ‘How can I make the most out of a small kitchen?’, and one of the most common solutions is to include built-in storage and appliances. This creates a more open planned design which is ideal for those who want to avoid clutter and accident-prone children or even adults! Keeping yourself aware of how much space you use regularly can give you an idea of how you can remove that tight area to then transform it into a wider and more exciting room for you and your family.
Get some Inspiration!
We have all seen aesthetically pleasing photos of bespoke kitchen designs, whether it’s on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and yet we yearn for something like that – you can achieve this! Take the inspiration and turn it into a reality. Go big and bold and make your ideas fall onto the page and see what you can accomplish within your budget. Take inspiration from them but never copy, make it your own, it is going to be YOUR kitchen. Do not restrict yourself from straying away from your original idea either, no idea is an original idea, it is built from progression and communication.
Split up the Room!
Use your kitchen productively. Make separate zones, if you like, for various tasks: cooking, washing up, entertainment and perhaps a workstation too. Having these areas allows there to always be a place in your kitchen where something is happening – giving it that buzz! Not forgetting of course, in all kitchens the important ‘golden triangle’ where your sink, fridge freezer and oven all align together. This may seem like a questionable theory but actually, having this shape within your kitchen will always allow there to be movement and a route around the space to once again seem like it is a nice and busy space. Make it functional and practical – after all, it is the heart of the home.
